AAML IL Columbus Day program 2018: This Columbus Day, Gunnar J. Gitlin co-chaired the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyer’s 12th Annual Columbus Day Program for Experienced Family Lawyers. This program became the most well attended continuing legal education program in Illinois on the topic of Illinois divorce and paternity law. Our program progressed from 60 attendees 12 years ago to the 2015 through 2017 programs where 400 people attended with each being sold out in hte last years I co-chaired the program. Our 2018 seminar focused on the new 2019 maintenance amendments, the impact of the 2018 tax cuts on our family-law practices, the 2018 Collaborative Process Act, with a special guest speaker from Los Angeles. Gunnar Gitlin provided a presentation on the Collaborative Process Act of 2018 and the new Supreme Court Rule specifically addressing collaborative practice in family law cases.
Martin Luther King Day seminar 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022: Gunnar J. Gitlin provided his caselaw update each year for the IICLE program. This divorce and business valuation program addresses high-net worth divorce cases. The program materials for these programs remain available through IICLE.
Drafting Marital Settlement Agreements seminar 2022: On September 6, 2018, the IICLE sponsored its drafting marital settlement seminar. Gunnar J. Gitlin put the original program materials together for the 1998, 1999 and 2000 programs. This program has been repeated and updated in 2006, 2013 and 2013. He reprised in the Spring of 2019. The entire curriculum for our program will be rewritten and updated for 2022. This program is perhaps one of the most well-received family law programs in the state and has an outstanding faculty. We will repeat this program in Chicago at UBS Center this summer!
