Use a QDROs as your tool of choice for the collection of substantial child support arrearages. In fact, the leading author states as slightly paraphrased:
In many cases, the child-support QDRO is the second QDRO prepared in the case. The first one, of course, is the property-division QDRO. The second one will be the QDRO to enforce payment of child support.”
Under ERISA there’s no limit to the number of QDROs that can be submitted in aa particular case as long as the intent is clearly delineated and the QDRO does not conflict with a previously submitted and accepted QDRO.
